I believe that you should love where you live, no matter your budget. Come join us as we fumble our way through renovations and DIYs - figuring out how to make our house a home as we go and sharing every step of the way!

What We're About

My husband, Lucius, and I bought our first house together in 2011. We quickly realized we wanted to make our white box of a house a home - but, with some hefty student loans to pay off, we didn't have the money for a huge renovation! Through years of trial and error, penny-pinching, and hiccups, we've now renovated several homes - those occupied by us and a few flips - and show no signs of stopping.

After we bought our most recent home in the fall of 2020, I decided I wanted to show other renovation enthusiasts they don’t have to have a big budget to make a big impact on their homes. And voila! This blog was born. Since the launch of Olive and June Home, we've been featured on The Spruce, Redfin, and Apartment Therapy (here and here) - and I'm itching to see what's next for us.

A Few Facts About Me

I love to create. In fact, I have a BFA in Painting. Whether I’m getting in the zone while working on a home improvement project, basking in the rush of excitement when I come up with a new room design, or painting an image I can't get out of my head, I can't get enough of it!

If I'm not creating, working, or chasing around our two little girls, I love to run and listen to true crime podcasts - simultaneously and separately!

The Other Half

Lucius, on the other hand, is a local real estate broker by day (how fitting, right?). While you may not see him on the blog or on our Instagram account, he plays a big part behind the scenes as the resident photographer. As far as home renovations go, he's admittedly most of the muscle and a good chunk of the brainpower, too! We love bouncing ideas off each other and coming up with new and unique ideas to try out.

In his off-time, Lucius is a board game fanatic, general superhero nerd, and overall car lover.
